Ciara and Adam
Together with their parents

are delighted to invite you to their wedding
July 27th, 2018

Our Story
It all started when Ciara approached Adam at a work event and shouted, "your name is Adam Rowlands" and spun him round.
Their paths crossed once more when they worked together in Sweden. Adam was great craic but Ciara was serious - ever the professional.
Over the next 3 years, Adam pursued Ciara but to no avail... Adam learned a key skill - to never give up!
One day she finally realised life was more fun with Adam.

Then Ciara moved in.

Then they travelled.

Then they got engaged
(on a bench overlooking Richmond Park).

And here we are...wedding bells!

Please respond by 14th April

The Wedding

Logistics
Transportation
Both the church and the reception are in Cloughjordan Village, County Tipperary. For those flying into Ireland the closest airport is Shannon (1 hour), followed by Dublin and Cork (2 hours).

Once in Cloughjordan, it's a 5 minute walk from the church to the reception.

For those not staying in Cloughjordan, we strongly recommend staying in Nenagh (pronounced 'Nee-na') which is 15 minutes away, we will be laying on a shuttle bus from midnight.
Please note, there are no taxi companies in Cloughjordan.
Accommodation
Unfortunately, there is limited accommodation at the venue. However Cloughjoran House is but a stones throw away from the Ecovillage (with a gate leading through from the garden) which has numerous bed and breakfasts. Many of these properties can be found on AirBnB, but, the long list can be found here

We have reserved several 3 and 5 bed houses at Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh, as well as several hotel rooms - when calling them please mention Ciara's name. We will be laying on a shuttle bus from midnight to the Abbey Court Hotel .

If you're staying on Saturday night you may wish to book accommodation in Killaloe village to enjoy splendid scenery and walks by the lake.
FAQ
-
I'm arriving on Thursday evening - will anyone be around for craic? For those arriving the night before, come join us in Ryan's Corner House from 8.30pm, a small pub round the corner from Cloughjordan House, for some traditional Irish music and a pint of Guiness! Hopefully see you there!
-
What's the plan for Saturday? We'll be heading to Killaloe - a beautiful town on the lake just down the road from Cloughjordan. There are a number of lovely cafes and bars to explore...or a boat which can take you to the point on the lake where 3 counties intersect if the weather's nice :) We'll get the BBQ going from 7pm at Killaloe Hotel, with food served from 7:30pm. We'd love to see you there to continue the celebrations.
-
What will I find in Cloughjordan?Cloughjordan is a small, country village. Whilst it does have a strong pub to church ratio (3 of each), it is less forthcoming with places to get dinner (beyond a small community cafe). The nearest town is Nenagh (pronounced Nee-na).
-
Which is the best airport to fly into?If you're flying into Ireland, the closest airport is Shannon (approximately 1 hour away). As well as being closer to the venue, Shannon is a smaller airport (so quicker to pass through) and less hassle to collect/return the car if you're renting one. Dublin and Cork Airport are both approximately 2 hours away but may be cheaper since they're larger airports.
-
I'm staying Saturday night, where should I stay?"We will be having some drinks and nibbles the night after the wedding in Killaloe, which is 30 minutes drive away from Cloughjordan. If you're staying in Nenagh for the wedding, you will be 15 minutes away so may chose to use that as a base. For those in Cloughjordan it's worth moving to Killaloe as it's a beautiful lake side town with more to explore.
-
If I'm not staying in Cloughjordan village, how do I get home at the end of the night when my little legs are tired?"We'll be providing a minibus which will do shuttle runs between Cloughjordan House and the Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh from midnight. Please note, it will be impossible to get a taxi from the reception.
-

We're thinking of extending our trip, do you have any recommendations?"You're in luck. You're in a beautiful part of the world. Dublin is a great city (anyone from Cork will understand how difficult that is for Ciara to say), Ireland’s capital has an abundance of things to see and do – the following are just some suggestions: visit Trinity College (Book of Kells), take a tour of the Guinness factory, visit Dublin Castle and pop in to the numerous restaurants and bars along the way! Highly recommend the Winding Stair for dinner overlooking the Ha’penny bridge, The Shelbourne or Peruke & Periwig for a cocktail! It’s also worth considering venturing to some of the other gems Ireland has to offer: West of Ireland Head West and let the winding roads steer your path to Lahinch, a surfing seaside town infamous for its small pubs and traditional Irish music. Make your way along the coastline for spectacular views of Ireland’s most visited tourist attraction; the Cliffs of Moher, a dramatic jagged coastline overlooking the Atlantic. Continue north until you hit Galway – Ireland’s arty, bohemian city (thank you Lonely Planet), with brightly painted pubs heaving with live music, galleries and make sure you try the oysters! Sit back and relax – or travel further west, there are gems waiting to be discovered – The Burren, Achill island to name but a few. South of Ireland For those flying into Cork (or keen to see the most beautiful part of Ireland – not biased at all), we wholeheartedly recommend exploring Co. Cork. Highlights include: - Blarney Castle - kiss the blarney stone which legend tells has the power of the ‘gift of the gab’- you’ve been warned - Kinsale - a beautiful port and fishing town renowned for its great restaurants and seafood - Midleton - Jameson distillery visit followed by lunch or dinner at the Farmgate - Garnish Island - from Glengariff, take the ferry across to visit Ireland’s only microclimate garden and island. You could combine this with 'The Ring of Kerry' for a week of adventure!
